Injuries in technical installations are random occasions. for this reason they can not be completely refrained from. merely the chance in their incidence might be lowered and their outcomes be mitigated. The ebook proceeds from dangers as a result of fabrics and strategy stipulations to indicating technical and organizational measures for attaining the pursuits of aid and mitigation.

Tyre retreading - download pdf or read online

The aim of this publication is to supply info of the various elastomers - together with reclaim rubber and crumb rubbers - utilised within the rubber compounds utilized in the manufacture of other kinds of tyre retreading. There are discussions approximately reinforcing fillers and different compounding constituents, their efficacy, using bonding brokers, and their relevance to the tyre retreading technique.

Example text

An investigation was carried out into the effects of grafted interfacial chains on the adhesion between glass and the semi-crystalline polymers, polypropylene and polyethylene. Silane functionalised polyethylene and polypropylene were synthesised from the copolymerisation of a diene with ethylene or propene, respectively, followed by hydrosilylation. The silanol groups of the surface react with the chlorosilane or alkoxysilane groups introduced at the chain ends or as side chain groups. Studies were carried out on the interfacial adhesion by using an asymmetric double cantilever beam and microbond tests for the polyethylene/ glass and polypropylene/glass interfaces, respectively.

Adhesion enhancement in excess of two to three orders of magnitude is found to be achievable for vacuum plasma treatment times greater than 10 min. 36 refs. 1289-91 INVESTIGATION OF HYDROPHILICITY OF POLYETHYLENE MODIFIED BY ELECTRIC DISCHARGE IN THE COURSE OF AGING Novak I; Florian S Slovak Academy of Sciences Details are given of the effect of ageing on adhesive properties of an LDPE modified by corona discharge in the presence or absence of additives. Investigations were performed by means of goniometric experiments consisting of measuring contact angles of 12 different testing liquids.

In particular, it is necessary to introduce a small quantity of functional groups such as carbonyl into the polyolefin surface. An exception is where a very rough surface has been created permitting mechanical keying, for example, the treatment of polypropylene with a chlorinated solvent vapour. It is also not necessary to pretreat polyolefin surfaces if a diffusion mechanism operates. Thus it is possible to heat weld two pieces of the same polyolefin and sometimes two pieces of dissimilar, but compatible polyolefins.
